Just picture this: you're a little girl. You walk into the boutique wearing your favorite princess' dress. You sit in a chair. When you're spun around, you look just like your beloved princess, the one whose movie you've watched, oh, at least a gajillion times.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a pretty amazing experience for a small girl (and they also offer a fun boy version wih hair spiking and sparkles). For a child who is a fan of princesses like Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora , Belle, Jasmine and Snow White, it is memorable and intense to be transformed into their favorite princess in a matter of a few minutes.
At the boutique, children (and some children-at-heart) get a makeover. They can choose between three styles from a classic and conservative bun with the Fairytale Princess hairdo to funky, modern tendrils of hair with the Pop Princess.
The makeovers are conducted by "Fairy Godmothers-in-Training," which are makeover specialists donning fun costumes and bright, cheerful smiles. The boutique itself is a colorful salon with a royal-looking chandelier and Disney princess decor.
Well, that depends. Technically, you can get a makeover for as little as $45 that includes the hair style and make-up. They also get accessories like a tiara, hair pieces, sparkling barettes, and so on (that depend on which style the child chooses).
But here's the rub. You'll need a princess dress. If you wait until you get there, it will cost another $65. It's best to buy one before you go or, if your daughter dressed up as a princess for Halloween or has a fancy princess-like dress, bring that with you.
During a Family Adventure visit to the boutique, the mistake was made of buying a tiara for $15 before realizing a lovely one was included in the makeover price. The boutique was extremely busy that day with a 40 minute lag in appointments, which can make it tempting to spend a wad of cash wandering the World of Disney store while waiting. Keep all these things in mind in your planning.
There are two Orlando boutiques. One is located in the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney. The other is actually physically located inside Cinderella's Castle at Magic Kingdom.
Family Adventures found that the Fairytale Princess 'do came with a pretty impressive array of bling, including a tiara with pink "jewels," a jewel-encrusted Mickey Mouse barette and a pink princess bag with makeup and a comb.
Reserve your little princess' makeover before you go, and allow plenty of time for the makeover. You don't want a sad princess who couldn't get in because they were all booked up. It is especially important to book ahead of time if you plan to get your princess a makeover before a Princess and Pirate Party at Magic Kingdom, as those dates book up quickly.
