Indiana Beach Amusement Park offers fewer crowds with a large variety of family rides, from the classic Merry-Go-Round to the daunting Den of Lost Thieves.

With a Boardwalk that is easy to maneuver, and rides with shorter lines, all visitors can find numerous rides to fit their own personal level of thrills.

Family Rides at Indiana Beach

The family rides at Indiana Beach were designed for parents and children to enjoy together. The following rides prove to be entertaining for all members of the family:

  • Air Crow: On the Air Crow, riders are given the opportunity to coast over Lake Shafer in their own self-propelled plane. Riders must be 36” with an adult or 44” to ride alone.
  • Antique Autos: Children can test their skills behind the wheel of the Antique Auto, with mom or dad in the passenger seat. Riders must be 44” to ride alone.
  • Big Flush: Located in the waterpark section of Indiana Beach, the Big Flush allows the entire family to cool down in one of two unique water coasters. Riders must be 42” w/adult or 44” to ride alone.
  • Den of Lost Thieves: Armed with shooters, riders can avenge pirates and thieves by riding into their secret den ensuing justice. Riders must be 44” to ride alone.
  • Dodg-em: In this classic ride of bumper cars, riders can enjoy bouncing off of each other or trying to outrun the other cars. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 48” to ride alone.
  • Flying Bobs: On the Flying Bobs, fly forward and backward, rocking back and forth to the beat of heart-pounding music. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 44” to ride alone.
  • Giant Gondola Wheel: The Giant Gondola Wheel, true to the word giant, can be seen from miles away. When the sun goes down, nearly 6,000 lights illuminate this round wheel of delight. This ride is a great way to see the entire boardwalk. Children must be able to sit up alone to ride, or 44” to ride without an adult (no single riders aloud).
  • Music Express: Like the flying bobs, the rider flies forward to music, and then backwards, to the beat of music. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 44” to ride alone.
  • Rocky’s Rapids: A soaking good time on a classic log ride. Zoom through tunnels, plunging into cool, refreshing water. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 44” alone.
  • Scrambler: The Scrambler spins the rider in a circle, which in turn spins in a circle. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 48” without (no single riders).
  • Splash Battle: This ride allows riders to truly get into the action. Via a water battle tank, riders can fire water to their enemies in the water, or even innocent bystanders. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 44” alone.
  • Tilt-A-Whirl: Anyone who has been to a local fair has encountered this family favorite. Based on a circular platform, cars spin round and round, speeding up and slowing down. Children must be able to sit alone to ride with an adult, or 44” alone.
  • Skyride: A wonderful way to scope out the entire Boardwalk, or travel from one side to the other, the colorful bench-like seats provide a safe, leisurely way to be transported through the sky. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 44” alone.
  • Falling Star: The Falling Star, a vast array of seats, moves in a vertical circle from left to right with an intense swooshing motion. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 44” alone.
  • Paratrooper: Sitting on a bench under an umbrella, the Paratrooper sails riders up into the air and back down in a smooth circle. Riders must be 48” tall.
  • Merry-Go-Round: Delightful for all ages, riders can pretend to gently gallop on horses or glide on chariots to enchanting music. There is no minimum for this ride.
  • Sea Dragon: A ship that rocks back and forth, higher and higher, until the rider reaches a point of momentary weightlessness. Riders must be 36” w/adult or 48” alone.

Family Rides that are not Included in Wristband

  • Dr. Frankenstein’s Haunted Castle: A very dark, very daunting castle that is not for the weak at heart. There is no minimum to enter the castle, but there is a separate charge.
  • Shafer Queen: For an extra fee, visitors can take a leisurely ride on a vast double-decker paddle-wheel driven boat. There are two trip lengths, and discounts are offered to wristband bearers.
