With the purchase of a Park Hopper ticket and some careful planning it is possible to visit all four Orlando, FL Disney theme parks in one day.

If one prioritizes and keeps to a schedule, it is possible to visit Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Epcot in one day. Use these tips to tour Walt Disney World Resorts like a Florida native and there is no reason why any family shouldn't be able to get on many different rides and do the popular rides such as Space Mountain and Expedition Everest more than once in one day.

Entering Walt Disney World

The game plan to success starts by getting to Walt Disney World at or slightly before opening. If lodging onsite, check the night before to find the best way to get to the first theme park of the day.

If arriving at the park by car, a daily parking fee allows for re-entry at both one's original theme park and the three others. A tram transports visitors from the parking lot to the entrance of the attraction.

Starting the day at Magic Kingdom? Visitors further take a ferry boat or monorail to that front gate. Both the boat and the monorail take about the same amount of travel time. The other three parks are accessible by either monorail or bus.

If one has a digital camera, after parking take a picture of the character and row identifier so that finding the car at the end of the day will be a breeze.

Security at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks

All handbags, fanny packs, diaper bags etc are searched prior to entering the parks. To speed this process along, have the bag du jour open and unattached to one's body before approaching the turnstile.

One must write their name on the back of the entry pass, this is scanned with the guest's index fingerprint each time one enters a theme park.

Purchase the Park Hopper Pass and Use the FastPass Option:

While more expensive, the Park Hopper pass will allow entry into all four theme parks on the same day. Included at no charge for both Park Hopper and regular pass is FASTPASS availability for many rides. The FASTPASS reservation gives the guest a 1 hour window of time during which the guest walks onto the ride with minimal wait time. (Orlando's other popular theme park - Universal Studios uses the Express Pass method)

Here's how it works - If the wait time for any ride is excessively long, use one's admission ticket to pull a FASTPASS ticket from a machine located at the ride. Printed on the FASSPASS ticket will be the 1-hour window of time during which one must return to be stepped ahead of the other guests waiting in line. Ride attendants are very firm about guests entering the FASTPASS line only during the appropriate period.

Depending on the popularity of the ride, one's hour might start almost immediately or hours later. Thinking it would be a great idea to go through the theme park at one time pulling FASTPASSES for all the popular rides? Oh, if only it was that easy!

One is limited to how many FASTPASSES can be pulled within a certain period of time. A good rule of thumb is to assume that only 1 FASTPASS every 1.5 hours will be available. This info is printed on the face of the FASTPASS.

A day out at Disney goes smoothly when the theme park guidebooks are up to date and ready to use.
