Why Not Play the Cornhole Game This Summer?Whether You Call it Bean Bag or Corn Toss, it's Great Family Fun
You don't have to settle for playing the same outdoor games this summer. Instead, you and your family can enjoy learning to play the Cornhole game.
Depending on what region of the country you live in, you may have heard of the Cornhole game. You may also have heard of the bean bag game. The two are one and the same, and other common names for it include the corn toss game and the bean bag toss. No matter what you call it it's a popular game that people all over the country -- and in some other parts of the world -- really enjoy playing because it's fun, it's easy, and almost anyone can play. The Rules of the Bean Bag GameThe rules are very simple. You stand a designated distance from the bean bag toss board, which has a hole in it. You throw bean bags of a specific size and weight toward the hole. When they go through, they score points. When they land on the board and stay there, they score points, but not as many. Bags that hit the board and fall off, or bags that don't hit the board at all aren't worth any points. The first person to 21 points is the winner. People can play this game individually against one another, or they can play in teams. It's really their choice of how they want to do things. For people who get really serious about the game and want to take it further than their own backyard, there are Cornhole tournaments in which they can participate. These are held all around the country, and there are Websites that are devoted to bringing bean bag players together. Making Your Own Bean Bag TossFor people who are extra creative or extra adventurous when it comes to learning a new game, the bean bag toss equipment can be made rather than bought. Buying it is faster, but that doesn't mean that it's the best way, or even the most fun. If you're handy with wood and someone in your house knows how to sew, making your own Cornhole game can be a great, rewarding family bonding experience. There are instructions on the Internet to help people make their own Cornhole or bean bag toss games, and if you want to do that you'll just need to buy the materials, make sure you have the tools, and get going. Just make sure to read the instructions carefully and proceed with caution so that you can avoid injury. Whether you build your own set or buy one from a company, the bean bag game never goes out of style. Everyone from the littlest child to elderly grandparents and great-grandparents can play, so no one feels left out. Most disabled people are able to play it, as well, and there's no running or jumping involved. Rather than spend your summer doing the same old thing, the bean bag game gives you a chance to learn something new and have some quality time with family and friends this summer.
