- Deceptive practices by Priceline
Like some of the other posts, I too put in a bid for a flight. Like the others, it was declined & I was told to bid again. I decided to just go book somewhere else & did not submit another bid, however a charge showed up on my credit card for a flight with a totally different itinerary #. When I entered my info it only brought up the one tinerary # that was declined. They claim they sent an e-mail which I never received. When I finally got a # for cust service, they sent a confirmation that day. They put my fare on hold for a year, but when I use it I will have a $100 penalty from the airlines & $30 from Priceline. According to Priceline, some airlines allow you to book directly with them to avoid the $30, but my airline does not. What a load of crap. I filed a dispute with my credit card & when the rep learned that, he informed me he could not offer to put the ticket on hold & since I have another flight I will be considered a no show & will lose everything. I said that was totally unacceptable & that was not fair to the consumer since I have the right to dispute a charge. After being put on hold numerous times, he said they will hold the fare for 1 yr, but the charges still apply. I got his name & employee id #, but when I asked for his supervisor's name, I was told he was the highest person I could talk to. I told him I work in call center so I know all the scripts the reps are given & I knew he had a sup & his boss has a manager. Still could not get names. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB & the AG for Florida.
