» Kara Williams - all-inclusive in Mexico

We are just (last night!) back from an all-inclusive vacation in Mazatlan (AI resorts are found throughout Mexico, as well as the Caribbean as you mentioned).

We find this a marvelous way to vacation with kids--especially mine who are notoriously picky eaters. You gotta love the buffets that typically have something for everyone. But I do want to second your note about "all-inclusive" not meaning "everything is included."

For example, some dining rooms are off limits. And sometimes you are charged extra for certain meals -- like lobster and steak. My husband's bacon-wrapped shrimp entree off the a la carte was worth the additional $9, but it was extra.

Yes, I think a lot of people make that mistake. We took an "all-inclusive" cruise for 11 days, and got a bill for $1,000 when we left. Ouch! We knew what was not included, but you'd be surprised how those little things add up quickly.

Hi Kara,

Just, it sounds like you guys had a great time in Mazatlan, except for the extra expenses. We love to travel and found out a way to get Luxury 4-5 star Condos for way less than anyone we've talked to so far traveling and on some other blogs. I mean, when we traveled (4 of us) before we found out about this deal, to stay at a decent resort(because a hotel was not cutting it!) was burning through our vacation budget quicker than you could say Disney! Anyway, I looked the program over and you can to if you want, I'll tell you how later. I was skeptical but at the same time I kept hearing good things about the company. So, we decided to try a small package and see if it would save us any money. Last year we went to Orlando for a week and stayed at a Fair Field Resort...It was a very nice two bedroom condo close to the attractions there. But get this, instead of paying over a thousand for that week, we only paid $325 for the whole week (7) nights!!

Yes, you better believe we got a larger package!

We liked this deal so much, I joined with the company and now we travel cheaper and if I want to tell someone how to save a lot of money when they travel, I can and the company pays me if they try it!! If you are like us, you need some more convincing so if you want to see what the company offered the Marina El Cid Hotel & Yacht Club, for in Mazatlan, email me and I'll let send you the actual email we got offering the trip.

Oh yea, you and your family could travel anywhere and get these discounts and all the "Perks" so I hear.
